DISASTER RECOVERY SOLUTIONS

Backups
There are many reasons why backups fail such as improper scheduling of backup jobs, mismanaged media rotations, dirty tape heads, media write errors, etc. If you have deployed a backup solution, the work has just began. The jobs need to monitored and verified for success or failure. In the event of a failure, the job needs to be run manually. You need to track the jobs, manage media pools, make sure you keep a copy of your tapes off site, clean the tape heads, and most importantly, perform monthly tests by doing restores and verifying the data. We can do all of these things for you, and report the status to you weekly or monthly.

Data Replication
In the event that your office gets hit with water damage or fire, you would be well served to have a copy of your data offsite. We can copy your data to a remote server and back it up at the remote site for you. It is important to consider risks such as these when you plan for disaster recovery.

Hard Drive imaging
We can create a compressed copy of your server's hard drives, in the form of an image file, and store it on another machine in your office, on tapes, or off site. These drive images are the best way to recover from a hard drive failure or corruption. When the image is being created, the operating system is shut down and all files are captured, including applications, data, the operating system, etc.

Hardware Redundancy
Hardware redundancy is designed to protect against a single point of failure such as a power supply, a hard drive, a network card, etc. We can help you by incorporating dual power supplies, dual network cards, mirroring hard drives within your server, and introducing UPS protection.

Application Recovery
We can inventory, document, and organize your applications. In the event that you lose an application, we will know the version, the serial number, and the location of the installation media to help you recover the application and your data.

Security
We can do a security analysis, make a series of recommendations, and help you implement them. Some items to consider are password polices, physical security on the server, File permission security, wireless encryption, centralized management of virus, spyware, and Microsoft security patching, as well as hardware and software firewalls, data encryption, etc.

We will work with you to keep your network running, and provide real value.

Let us perform an analysis of your environment and develop a strategy to protect against a downtime or data loss, which may include hardware failure, failed tape restores from unreliable backups, corruption, attacks from hackers, virus or spyware, poor security...
Below is a partial list of items that we will look at when working out a disaster recovery plan for you.
